Full Circle Theatre

30 Minutes or Less

30 Minutes or Less brings Full Circle Theatre back together with local playwright AJ Pearce for three bold new short plays, each clocking in at (you guessed it) thirty minutes or less. Following a successful showing at the Calgary Region One Act Play Festival, we now bring you the full suite. This collection moves from the aftermath of Columbine in May ’99, to a playwright’s delicious response to a bad review in The Critic, to the Arctic-shadowed waiting room of Lady Jane Waiting, featuring Outstanding Performance winner Ciorstaidh Reid. Funny, sharp, haunting, and deeply human, 30 Minutes or Less is an evening of comedy, drama, and big ideas in beautifully compact packages.

Who
we are

Full Circle Theatre is a Calgary-based collective creating theatre that’s fresh, fearless, and fun. Since 2010, we’ve been celebrating women’s voices and reimagining the classics alongside brand-new stories. Our work invites audiences to laugh, question, and connect while giving artists the chance to take risks and discover their voices. We believe theatre should feel like community: inclusive, open, and just a little bit scrappy. We make the type of theatre that we want to see.

Power Play is Full Circle Theatre’s brand new hockey retelling of The Taming of the Shrew. Set inside the chaotic world of the Padua Pythons, this original rom-com pits a razor-sharp communications director against the league’s most notorious bad boy after one badly timed lie turns into a very public fake relationship. With rivalries, media scrums, locker room drama, and a whole lot of feelings on the line, Power Play is a fast, funny, messy love story about image, ambition, and what happens when the truth blows the whole game open.
