Full Circle Theatre is casting ouR 2026-2027 Season!
This year, we’re heading from the gossip-filled world of Regency Messina to a dark, bloody Scotland steeped in horror and fantasy. Whether you’re interested in witty romantic drama, Shakespearean tragedy, or a little bit of both, we’d love to meet you.
General auditions for They Say and Something Wicked [Macbeth] will take place September 7–9, 2026. Read on for everything you need to know about the shows, characters, audition requirements, and how to sign up.
Full Circle Theatre is holding General Auditions on September 7, 8, and 9 for our upcoming productions of They Say (by Megan Baldrey) and Something Wicked [Macbeth] (by William Shakespeare), a co-production with Jupiter Theatre. Both shows will take place in West Village Theatre.
Come join us for auditions on Monday, September 7, Tuesday, September 8, and Wednesday, September 9 (7-10pm) in the Boardroom at the Morpheus Rehearsal Space (3512 5 Ave NW), lower level of the Parkdale Community Centre.

If interested in They Say: No prep required - come ready to do a cold read! We’ll send sides to you before the audition.
If interested in Something Wicked: Please prepare one dramatic 2-minute Shakespearean or classical monologue of your choice.
If interested in both: Please prepare one 2-minute Shakespearean monologue and be prepared to do a cold read from They Say.

They Say is Full Circle Theatre’s brand new, Bridgerton-inspired prequel to Much Ado About Nothing. Set before Beatrice and Benedick became Shakespeare’s most famously combative almost-lovers, this original romantic drama imagines their first courtship, the pressures of reputation and favour, and the choices that helped shape the people we meet in Messina in the Shakespearean classic. Gossip, desire, social maneuvering, old wounds, and one very important question - who is Lady Goodword? They Say is a sexy, witty love story about who gets to tell the story and who pays the cost.
Performance Dates: November 12-21, 2026, West Village Theatre
Rehearsal Schedule: Monday - Thursday evenings. Rehearsals to start October 5.

They Say
Characters:
Beatrice (F, late 20-30s): Hero’s cousin and governess. Smart, poor, opinionated and VERY aware that these qualities are not helping her marriage prospects. (Which she is more than okay with.) Loves poetry, fencing and being right. Talks too much. Thinks too much.
Hero (F, early 20s): Sweet and young, just at the start of her first season. Kind, romantic and catastrophically awkward around men. Quiet until she decides something, at which point she just won’t stop. Has taken it upon herself to get Beatrice married.
Innogen (F, 30s-40s): Leonato’s brand-new second wife. Practical, warm and very good at surviving within the rules of society. Loves Beatrice and Hero dearly. Would really appreciate it if everyone stopped asking where she came from and whether she feels sick.
Margaret (F, 20s-40s): Hero’s lady’s maid. Knows everything happening in the house. Funny, mischievous and much more experienced than the lady she serves.
Queen Annabella (F, 45+): The Queen. Obviously. Bossy, meddling, terrifying. Has decided her son is getting married and sees no particular reason why his opinion should interfere. An old friend of Leonato’s who is used to everyone doing exactly what she says.
Pedro (M, 20s-30s): The Prince. Soldier, future king and man currently being aggressively pressured by his mother to find a wife. Equal parts charming and petulant. Would very much like Lady Goodword to mind her own business.
Benedick (M, late 20-30s): Soldier, bachelor, professional pain in Beatrice’s ass. Charming, confident, competitive. Thinks poetry is inferior to actual experiences. Will bet anything on his own opinion of himself.
Claudio (M, early 20s): The youngest soldier. Handsome, earnest, and deeply inexperienced with actual women despite thinking about them quite a lot. Meets Hero and loses whatever game he may have had.
Borachio (M, 20s-30s): Soldier and Prince Pedro’s favourite troublemaker. Irreverent, certainly not a gentleman, and very comfortable ignoring the rules of polite society. Probably has more fun than anyone in Messina.
Leonato (M, 45+): Governor of Messina and Hero’s father (in that order). Horse guy. Wine guy. Newly married guy. Old and important enough to speak to the Queen in ways no one else would dare.
**Note: All actors for They Say must be 18+. We will be casting two swings to cover all tracks as an understudy. The swings will appear onstage in various small roles during every performance.

Something Wicked is officially the title of Full Circle Theatre and Jupiter Theatre’s production of Macbeth, chosen to reflect the horror-leaning vibes. All original Shakespearean text, all the infamous tragedy. You can expect shadow and silhouette play. Steeped in horror and fantasy, this production follows a warrior whose encounter with three mysterious figures sets him and his wife on a brutal path toward power, paranoia, and ruin. With witches, prophecy, blood, and a world that feels increasingly less human the deeper Macbeth descends into it, Something Wicked is a visceral exploration of ambition, fate, and what happens when wanting the crown means becoming something monstrous.

Something Wicked
Characters:
Macbeth (30’s - 40’s); A soldier with high ambition, but sometimes hesitant to do what it takes to get what he wants. Has a sleeping monster within.
Lady Macbeth (late 20’s - 40’s); High-status spouse of Macbeth. Has a very strong resolve but beholden, and often trapped by circumstance. Has a sleeping monster within.
The Witches (3) (18+); omnipresent beings, all-powerful. Seen as monsters, but may be the human of all.
Macduff (late 20’s - 40’s); A soldier with high integrity. A monster’s foil.
Banquo (30’s - 40’s); A highly inquisitive soldier. Also ambitious but more even-tempered. A potential monster at bay, never actually realized.
Malcolm (20’s - 30’s); The rightful heir. Noble and demure in stature, but quite calculated, witty, and ultruistic. May be too young for an inner monster, may be a monster tamer.
Duncan (40’s - 50’s); King of Scotland. A selfish and very old-guard type of ruler. Gives willingly to those who serve him but equally vengeful to those who are against him. A monster fully realized.
Lady Macduff (late 20’s - 40’s); High-status spouse of Macduff. Equally high in integrity as their spouse and seen as an equal as by their spouse. A monster’s foil.
Fleance (late 20’s); Child of Banquo; much like their father, inquisitive in nature. May be too young for an inner monster, may be a monster tamer.
Please note that casting will be gender neutral for many characters. We will also be casting several smaller parts not listed and there is a possibility of actors playing several roles. If cast in a smaller role, you may be asked to understudy a larger role.
Full Circle Theatre operates on a profit-share model, so an honorarium may be available, but please keep in mind this relies on a lot of factors.
